The Huntington Beach Desalination Project is a 50-million gallon per day facility currently in late-stage development. The desalination plant will be located adjacent to the AES Huntington Beach Power Station and is scheduled to be operational by 2018.
The Huntington Beach Desalination Plant has the potential to have significant economic benefits for the city of Huntington Beach and the region, including:
Several hundred million dollars in economic stimulus over the life of the facility
Creation of over 2,000 jobs during construction and 18 full-time jobs and 322 indirect jobs once the facility is in operation
